The trail begins with an easy walk through second growth trees. Also known as the Maple Wetland trail, it loops through a wetland area that is populated by tall maples. The trail then rises steeply as hikers approach the rocky bluff that serves as the viewpoint. Just beyond the viewpoint is a grove of large old growth trees.
