Dean Wile's wool carding mill (built in 1860)ran 24 hours a day, six days a week during the peak period of May. As many as five women at a time ran the machine-driven process. The building contains the original machinery, powered by an overshot waterwheel.

This historic house and estate, located between Dartmouth and Windsor on Route 1, is a true Georgian-style development that was built in 1813 for Attorney-General Richard John Uniacke. The property has seven scenic walking trails that can be enjoyed any time of year. The house, which is open from June to mid-October, gives visitors a feel for the lives on 19th century Nova Scotian gentry. In 1816 William Ross, an army captain, and his wife Mary arrived with 172 disbanded soldiers to settle in the interior of N.S. The 60-acre site includes a vintage store, farmhouse, barns and workshops, village school, a blacksmith's shop and a cooper's shop.
