    Indian Beach
    The name may not be very politically correct, but this beach has a great location in North Sydney, next to the ferry terminal. Facilities include a playground, a canteen, a band shell and washrooms.

    Point Pleasant Park
    This 186-acre wooded park has numerous attractions, including a long sandy stretch of beach, ruins of early structures, a Martello tower and 39+ km of easy walking trails, many of which are wheelchair-accessible. The park was hit rather severly by Hurricane Juan, so donations to the park are welcome.

    Thomas Raddall Provincial Park

    With 650 ha (1,600 acres) of parkland, this seaside park offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, swimming, picnicking, camping and even relaxing. Three white sand beaches lie within the perimeters of the park. Four migratory seabird sanctuaries can be found nearby. To get to the park, exit Highway 103 in Port Joli at the Port L' Herbert turn-off.
