Shelburne Memorials & Monuments

In 1961, three longliners were destroyed in a vicious storm near Lockeport, killing all 17 fishermen aboard and leaving 65 children fatherless. Over 40 years later, the families of the deceased, along with local artists, have created a memorial quilt that depicts each of the men and the ships that went down with them. The quilt is on display at the Lockeport Crescent Beach Centre.
