This reconstructed French fur-trading post was built by Samuel de Champlain and Sieur de Monts in 1605 in a fashion reminiscent of farms in Normandy. Costumed guides will explain the significance of this New World fort, which was the site of North America's first social club, the Order of Good Cheer, and the venue for Canada's first theatrical performance, the Theatre of Neptune. Open daily from 9am to 6pm from May 15 to October 15. Address: Route 1 Port Royal NS Canada
