The building is actually located on the former site of the Hawkesbury Creamery. This hall was originally a building supply warehouse for many years then a wholesale warehouse before being acquired by the SAWDC. Extensive renovations were completed in 1995 and it has since become one of the cornerstones of the Port Hawkesbury waterfront improvement efforts begun in 1992.
