Digby at a Glance
Digby, Nova Scotia,
can be found on the shores of the Bay
of Fundy, home to the world's highest tides. In 1997, Canadian Living Magazine
voted Digby the most romantic city in Canada because the fresh sea air and passionate
Acadian culture combine to form an enchanting and historically rich destination.
A stroll along the Admiral's Walk in downtown Digby will lead visitors to the
Admiral
Digby Museum, named after Sir Robert Digby, who led pioneers to the town
in 1783. The nearby Fisherman's Memorial Park pays homage to the fallen fishers
from Digby's past. Digby is well-known as the scallop capital of the world and
each year in August the locals hold
Digby Scallop Days, an exciting celebration which pays tribute to this distinction.
Don't forget the camera; the scallop fleet is a photo opportunity that is not
to be missed.
